One week of every month is
ROCK WALL WEEK
in
P.E
 for K - 8th Grade

New for 2010-2011 school year are special 'noodles' or obstacles for the children to climb under, over or through.

A very exciting addition to our schools P.E program, the rock wall is taught by a certified Rock Wall Climbing teacher, during the one week of every month.

Students are reminded of these rules during Rock Wall Week:

  • Bring sneakers to school. They must tie up securely.

  • It is suggested that female students  wear hairstyles low on the head with minimal clips etc. Each student wears a helmet whilst on the wall and high pony tails, clips etc must be taken out before wearing the helmet.

  • Students may only start climbing on the wall once they have washed and dried the bottom of their shoes, put on a helmet, chalked their hands and a spotter is present.

  • Not put their helmets back in the box after their turn as they must be sanitized between students.

To run efficiently, each class needs a minimum of 2 parent volunteers. One parent is a spotter and the other coordinates helmets and assigns turns on the wall.
If you would like to volunteer, please contact Mrs Henning at: henning@holyspiritcs.org or call the office.
